Sometimes, work takes you to places you had written down on your Travel Bucket List or your work just takes you to a dreamy location like Paris. In the case of Lucy and Nathan, they came for a conference and decided to stay a few extra days to enjoy themselves in the City of Light and Love. Perfect mixture of Work and Pleasure! As part of their extended trip, they reached out to me to photograph a romantic Paris travel love story.
It always tickles my heart to photograph couples who have been together for years, yet you cannot tell for how long because their love feels fresh. Admittedly, some couples joke during the session that they haven't kissed this much in recent history. Some, but not all. Lucy and Nathan did not make this joke and these two feel like #couplegoals.
For those who know me, I am a fan of red. When they showed up in red - Lucy - and blue - Nathan, I was over the moon with the palette I was going to have during their session. Why? Paris is full of pastel tones, so strong colors like Lucy's red and Nathan's blue makes them stand out from the background. They call for your attention, but they are just the right level of saturation and ligthness that they don't scream at you. They compliment everything and match perfectly.
As far as the locations went, we started the shoot at Bir Hakeim bridge with the view of the Eiffel Tower, followed by a walk through the typical Parisian streets in Saint Germain district towards the parks on both sides of Seine river by Notre Dame Cathedral. We enjoyed the views of Ile Saint Louis from the tip of Ile de la Cite observation point, then we wrapped the session up with some coffee and a couple of croissants at cafe L'Esmeralda overlooking the Notre Dame Cathedral.
