A little culinary curiosity in Paris is how prominent Sushi is. It is so big that SushiShop got Chef Kei Kobayashi to create a few dishes for their menu exclusively for 2017. We were invited to a little tasting prepared by the chef himself at his restaurant, Kei in the 5e district. So, if you are just too tired and pooped after a long flight and just want to stay in at your room for the night to charge batteries before exploring Paris tomorrow, a little takeout delivered to your door could be a godsend. Or, if you feeling like having a French dinner with 1 Michelin Star under his belt, you can go to his restaurant here.
Chef Kei Kobayashi inspired his sushi creations from his signature garden salad starting with the Gravlax Salmon roll. Like his salad, they both use this cured nordic salmon mixed with fresh mint, cucumber, carrots and crumble.
Second, a sweet sour red miso salad with cucumber, peanuts, sesame, lime, and maple sirup.
He also came up with a vegetarian roll, the Garden Roll with arugula, carrots, cucumber, red miso, peanuts, sesame seeds, maple sirup, and green lime. But, our favorite one was the beef Gyu Special Roll... it is just incredible. Beef, avocado, carrots, red pepper, fried onions, sesame mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce and lime. Yes, it's the most spiced up from his creations, but Chef Kei wanted to play with the colors and make it a visual roll. Again, our favorite.
These desserts are not part of the SushiShop menu, but from his own restaurant to compliment the tasting meal.
Now you know, if you're too tired for going out, you can get some amazing sushi delivered to your room or if your feeling adventurous to have 1 Michelin Star french cuisine you can go to Kei's restaurant as well.
