The French National Day that we call Bastille day and the French simply say 14 Juillet is one of the most spectacular events in France. It starts with a military parade and a fly over of jets creating the French flag in the sky, and finishes with fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. Last year was our first celebration and we were absolutely unprepared! The sheer amount of people filling the streets to watch the breathtaking fireworks was intimidating and we didn’t find a good spot to even see the tower. So this year we learned from the past mistake and came prepared with a group of friends we picnicked the day away right in front of the Eiffel Tower at Champ de Mars. We are yet to learn for the next year as we have brought only a 50mm lens and our spot to watch the fireworks was so close to the tower that a wide-angle lens would be a better choice. Next time, darlings, next time!
